Rochdale defender Dan Moss will miss the remainder of the 2026-27 League Two season after suffering a serious knee injury. The 25-year-old damaged his anterior cruciate ligament during the club's 2-0 victory over neighbours Oldham earlier this month.
Fellow defender Laurence Maguire expressed the squad's feelings on the blow. "He's an amazing person and we're devastated for him, but I don't think he'll let it define him," Maguire said. "He'll come back as an amazing, stronger player."
Moss's absence compounds Rochdale's defensive issues, as Maguire is also sidelined for about 10 weeks with a calf injury. The double setback comes as the team sits 16th in the table with 10 points from their opening eight games. Their recent form reads two wins, two draws and one defeat from the last five outings.
Rochdale must now cope without Moss as they prepare to host Swindon Town, who are 12th, at Spotland on Saturday. Supporters can check the full schedule on the club's fixtures page and view the latest squad news here.
