Rochdale AFC is recruiting for five roles across the first team, academy, and women's team as preparations continue for the 2026 to 2027 season. The club has announced five opportunities for people looking to work in professional football, with applications open until Friday 14 August 2026 at 5pm.
What's the Opportunity?
The men's first team is recruiting a kit assistant to support day-to-day operations. The successful applicant will also provide support to a variety of teams and individuals across the club. Rochdale AFC is also seeking a men's first team performance analysis work placement student for the 2026 to 2027 season. The placement is aimed primarily at students completing a sandwich year as part of an undergraduate degree, although masters students and recent graduates seeking industry experience may also be considered.

The club said it is looking for candidates who are aiming to build a career in professional football, with enthusiasm, a positive approach, and the ability to work across a range of activities. Applicants should also live close to the club's Platt Lane Sports Complex. A second work placement is available within the academy performance analysis department. The opportunity is intended for students entering the second or third year of an undergraduate degree, although masters students and recent graduates may also be considered.
What Comes Next?
The academy is also recruiting a lead youth development phase coach to oversee players from under 12 to under 16 level. The successful candidate will work closely with the head of coaching and will act as a senior point of contact for players, parents, and coaches. Applicants for the coaching role must hold a UEFA A Licence and relevant youth coaching qualifications. Previous experience in a professional academy environment would be an advantage. The club said all academy positions are subject to a Category 3 licence under the Elite Player Performance Plan being awarded this summer.
Key Roles and Requirements
The women's first team is recruiting a physiotherapist or sports therapist on a part-time sessional basis. The role includes providing medical support at fixtures, attending at least one training session each week, and supporting player rehabilitation. The club is seeking a graduate in physiotherapy, although applications from suitably experienced sports therapy graduates will also be considered.
